Max, a lifelong resident of Northeastern Pennsylvania, attended the University of Scranton, where he held an officer position in the Pre-Law Society and graduated summa cum laude. After obtaining his Bachelor of Science, he went on to attend Brooklyn Law School where he was selected to join the Alternative Dispute Resolution Honor Society.
Prior to founding Lermitte & Lubin, Max worked as an Assistant Public Defender in Luzerne County where he gained invaluable experience in all aspects of criminal defense and courtroom advocacy.
At Lermitte & Lubin, Max strives to provide his clients with effective, results-driven advocacy at all stages of a case. Max has successfully represented many clients in jury trials, obtaining acquittals for his clients who were charged with possession with intent to deliver, criminal use of a communication facility, firearm offenses, theft offenses, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving under the influence. Max has also successfully litigated preliminary hearings, motions for judgement of acquittal, petitions for writ of habeas corpus, and rule 600 motions resulting in dismissal of charges.
In his family law practice, Max is sensitive to the profound impact issues involving child custody and divorce can have on his clients. Max understands the importance of thoroughness, timely communication, and aggressive advocacy when handling these matters on behalf of his clients. Max has successfully litigated petitions for special relief, motions for contempt, petitions to modify custody, and motions for child and spousal support.
Max is admitted to practice before our Pennsylvania Courts as well as the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
Max proudly represents clients in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wyoming, Carbon, Schuylkill, and Monroe County He can be contacted 24/7 via cell phone and is available for jailhouse visits and to provide immediate representation at the police station or for bail hearings.
